This paper presents a novel approach to enhance the capabilities of conventional RF-to-DC converters. It is shown that such a circuit can indeed perform backscattering modulation through the external variation (baseband modulation) of its DC load resistance. The proposed strategy aims to improve versatility of rectifier circuits in various applications, such as energy harvesting, wireless power transfer, communication systems, and Zero Power sensing.
