Abstract
This paper presents an experimental setup utilizing a set of 39 UHF RFID tags to scan the propagation channel environment. The main focus of the study is to exploit the power profiles obtained from each tag, utilizing a distance and power variation technique to get access to the reciprocal propagation channel. By examining the power profiles of these 39 tags positioned in a row and moving along a rail, the study demonstrates this capability to characterized the propagation channel. The knowledge of this channel called $\alpha$ is of interest for further advanced applications aiming to enhance read-range.
